It's been months since that terrible night when Dean learned just how vengeful, possessive, and jealous Archangels could be. Since then he's suffered through several visits, if one could call them that, with Lucifer. He hasn't seen Gabriel once since that first night even though he's prayed and tried to summon him many times. He'd confronted Lucifer about it thinking perhaps the jealous Devil had done permanent damage to his friend. Lucifer stated that aside from choosing to avoid Dean he was just fine. That hurt to think about; that Gabriel would abandon him like that. That he would leave him to the mercy of his ruthless older brother. Still, he didn't give up. After the last meeting with Lucifer Dean had been left tied up and gagged. He'd prayed for over an hour to both Gabriel and Castiel but neither came to help him. Sam wasn't due back for a day at least so Dean had been forced to partially dislocate his shoulder in order to get himself free. It had taken over two hours but he'd finally managed to free himself from Lucifer's bonds. It's been three weeks since that night and once again Sam had decided to go out for the night. Dean hesitated in wishing him a good night, afraid he was going to have a run in with Lucifer again. In the end he'd bid his brother a good evening and locked himself in his bedroom with multiple angel banishment runes spread out around the room. If Lucifer came back, he'd be ready.

"Oh sure, tell me to do something when I just sat down," Gabriel complains as he searches the cabinets around him.

[huntsdemons]

Dean laughs and when the pops stop and he sets the pot down on the counter and opens the lid. He pours some salt and replaces the lid only to shake once more. "Alright...all done."

[lotsoflaughs]

Gabriel finds the bowl and plops it on the counter by him. "Your bowl."

[huntsdemons]

"Thanks." Dean pours the popcorn into the bowl and adds a bit more salt. "Wanna grab us some cokes?"

[lotsoflaughs]

"No beer?" Gabriel teases, slipping off the counter. "Or remembering I can just snap them into being as well?"

Given that soda is a source of sugar, damn right he knows how to get it exactly right.

[huntsdemons]

"Not really feeling a beer right now." Dean admits with a shrug as he heads for the TV room. He sits the popcorn bowl down and sets about getting the movie set up before claiming his seat on the couch.

Sure, deflate his making fun of you attempt. Gabriel just grabs the sodas with no further comment, flitting to the tv room.

[huntsdemons]

"So are we doing this popcorn swap thing?" Dean asks once Gabe is settled.

[lotsoflaughs]

"If you want to," Gabriel says, snapping some for himself into existence and settling the bowl in his lap. Then he's popping open his can of coke and taking a swig.

[huntsdemons]

Dean cues up the movie to start, pops the tab on his soda and then holds out his bowl for Gabe to grab a handful while he takes one from Gabe's bowl. "hmm..not bad. Mine's better." Dean grins eating some of his own. His is much better."

[lotsoflaughs]

"You're biased," Gabriel sniffs, munching on some of his popcorn.

[huntsdemons]

"How can anything conjured be better than made from scratch?"

[lotsoflaughs]

"Because as a guy doing this for a really long time from your point of view, I like to think I've gotten good at it," he points out drily.

[huntsdemons]

"Okay. I see your point." Dean muses before he settles into the movie. Time to talk is over now.

[lotsoflaughs]

Shutting up works for Gabriel. He actually hadn't seen this movie yet so he'd like to focus on it.

[huntsdemons]

When the movie ends a couple hours later Dean yawns and stretches. "Thanks for this...I really appreciate it."

[lotsoflaughs]

"No problem. Heading off to sleep then?" Given the yawn, it's a safe bet. Still can't hurt to be sure.

[huntsdemons]

"Anxious to leave, huh?" Dean asks.

[lotsoflaughs]

"You look like you're ready to catch some z's," Gabriel points out. "So until you want me to watch you sleep..."

[huntsdemons]

Dean sighs sadly and shrugs. "Nah, I get it. It would be better if you slept but I suppose I'll settle for maybe having a construct stay? I'd really like to not be alone....." Very few people would ever get a request like that from him, not even Sam. If it means anything to Gabriel.

[lotsoflaughs]

"And somehow, I doubt you want to cause the start of a new meme. 'Ceiling archangel watches you sleep.'" Because that's not creepy or anything.

[huntsdemons]

Dean nods slowly and just kind of gives up. This is not something he enjoyed. Having to ask for help like this. "You can go, I will be fine." Even as he said it he knew it was a lie. He doubts he will ever be fine being alone.

[lotsoflaughs]

Gabriel's taking up space on Dean's lap in fairly short order. "Liar."

[huntsdemons]

Dean stiffens at first because he wasn't expecting it. His eyes look around wildly for a moment, clearly spooked, before relaxing and focusing on Gabriel. His voice wavers when he speaks making himself wince. "No really. I'm fine." He is so not fine.

"You just acted like you thought my brother was in the middle of popping out of the closet," Gabriel points out quietly. "You're not fine."
