As much as Dean's mind fought against it, he was fully aware of the fact that 'neither' was not an option here. Because while it might've been easy to think that way, it would've been a hell of a lot harder to manage it.
Another moment of furious thinking left Dean actually trying to figure out which option he could stand first; not that it mattered much when apparently both were on the table. At least going on his knees would mean recovery from having his ass in the air, but that hardly meant anything when he knew where his face was going to be stuffed. But he could pretend that it came with a reprieve, tell himself that he could stand it because he didn't really want it. All of it cycled frantically through his mind until it left it there, letting Lucifer decipher his thoughts while he tried to keep his breathing some semblance of steady.
