Garth'zel and Ezra's trip to Odessen to work on things in peace gets cut short thanks to Kanan's arrival. What was enough food for the two of them rapidly became not enough with a third person to feed. (Even if Kanan wasn't overly happy about needing to depend on a Sith for basically anything.)

Since then, there's been a month of Kanan and Garth'zel needing to figure out how to more or less get along and keep the fighting to a minimum. Some of which basically meant finding different parts of the ship to be in for the most part, after Garth'zel had made sure Kanan knew where to find things in places like the medbay and galley.

Cue Garth'zel sitting in the pilot's seat in the cockpit, arms folded across his chest as he absently watches the starlines, letting them draw him into a mediative trance. A trance he shakes himself out of when he senses Ezra entering, turning his head to see him. "Hmm? What is it?"

Of course, then is when the console decides to beep, drawing his attention and resulting in him flicking a switch.

"--rates took out the blasted stabilizers and a few other things before I could drive them off. I repeat, mayday--" While the voice is utterly unfamiliar to Garth'zel, at least Ezra should recognize it.

Between thinking it best to steer as far away from the Core as possible given the current regime, and needing repairs to his ship, he finds himself on some backwater planet in the middle of nowhere. Not only that, but so far as he could tell, there were only a handful of cities worth the name with one of them being the capital city. Which was also oh-so-imaginatively named Capital City. It seemed to be his best bet, so it was the one he chose to land at.

While his ship was undergoing repairs, he heads out into the city. The workers don't need him breathing down their necks, so he may as well see what, if anything, was of interest. So lightsaber firmly hidden in his jacket, and anything the mechanics didn't need access to firmly locked, he heads out. May as well start with the market. Wherever it is.

They shouldn't have taken this mission, is all Kanan can think as he tries to fend off his opponent. Things started out well and went downhill fast with him not being entirely sure how. At least the others seem to be turning things around from what he can hear. Too bad he can't say the same.

He tries to retreat back another step but his foot lands on nothing and he falls off the edge of the platform, vaguely aware of Ezra screaming his name as he tries frantically to find a way to stop falling. Tries and fails. This is going to be a long way down.

*********************************************

Having returned to Odessen a few weeks ago, Garth'zel was in the middle of having Ezra work on gaining better control of his temper when he feels the Force do... something. Something massive.

Something prompts him to look up to see a figure falling and he automatically stretches out with the Force to try to slow the fall of whoever this person was, also reaching out to Ezra so they could make it a joint effort. "Ezra."

He doesn't need to say anything more than that, he hopes.

Ezra's voice sounds like it's coming from far away and getting further. Garth'zel struggles to respond, but he's tired. So tired. All he wants is rest. And maybe to see Ashara, suddenly feeling eager to see her again. His breathing slowly becomes more labored until there's finally a last sigh as he goes still.

He may finally be with her again, but now Ezra is alone with only an empty shell.
