Not that he intends to send her home right away. For one thing, it was late in the village and he may as well let her get her sleep. For another, he wasn't done with her quite yet.
After everything's sorted out for the morning, he reappears at the house in the village before venturing forth to see if she was still awake or if she's fallen asleep.
