Lucifer would never have allowed that. To lose a demon he had personally invested that much time in, one who bore his personal mark? It couldn't have worked, and being turned a second time would have been even worse, had they somehow succeeded. And she loved the power, the strength, resiliency, stamina, all the things she could never have been as a mere human. The things he was doing to her would kill a human.
