"You'd assume right. Back to human made stuff for the way it tastes for awhile." Given it would take about a Costco's worth of that to get him drunk and he has no intention of going for a several hour commitment to get there.
"I've never tried anything besides the 'human made stuff' although given what it did to you, that may not necessarily be a bad thing." Castiel lays back on the bed as well.
"Hey, it took a lot to get me there. I don't usually drink that much. If nothing else, because it makes it really hard to pretend to be just another demi-god at social crap if I'm smashed."
"I imagine that's true. In vino veritas." In wine there's truth. Castiel nods. "Plus, even if you didn't out yourself, so to speak, I'm sure there would likely be awkward rumours about how Loki cannot hold his liquor."
"Somehow, I'm not surprised. Is there anyone you can't out drink?" He's curious, but he has his doubts there is anyone who can drink an Archangel under the table. With perhaps a few exceptions that he'd rather not give too much close consideration to.
"I'm pretty sure that if I tried for a drinking contest with our oldest two brothers, they'd win. You know, assuming we could get either of them to bother." He tilts his head slightly in thought. "Well, I might have been able to coax Lucifer into humoring me."
Gabriel probably brought up the ones Castiel was trying not to think too much about.
Yup. Those would be the ones. Castiel contemplates drunk Michael and drunk Lucifer, and makes a face. "I don't think a drinking contest with either one would be very enjoyable for anyone." Although he might be a little biased.
"Assuming one or two other things that comes to mind that he probably wouldn't let you live to tell others about doesn't happen instead." He can't imagine that Michael would want to risk Castiel telling anyone about him spending time wailing about their Father abandoning them if he went for depressed drunk instead of angry drunk.
"I don't think anyone who stumbled across Michael drunk would live to tell the tale regardless of the circumstances." Except for the other Archangels, of course.
"I'm not being defensive." Well, not intentionally, at least. "Anyway, drunk or sober, if Michael ever gets out of the Cage, it would probably be a good idea for me to stay away from him regardless."
"Given that he'd want to take his own turn at killing you, yeah." Not even just for the molotov incident. Gabriel's betting that he's not too pleased about Castiel helping out the Winchesters with foiling his plans.
"Yes, most likely." Between the molotov incident, helping the Winchesters, and all of the things he's done since, Castiel is positive nothing good could ever come from Michael being released from the Cage.
Gabriel has the feeling that by now, Michael's heard enough from Lucifer that his ass would also be grass if he ever got out. So best for everybody if he stayed put.
He hums for a moment as he looks at the ceiling. "You about ready for me to let you get back to anything you might have been doing besides text me before I showed up?"
"Well, I wasn't really doing anything that can't wait, but if you need to go, then go. I'm fine. You don't needto stay on my account." Castiel sits back up, watching his big brother. "But, Gabriel, if you decide you'd like to talk about whatever is bothering you enough that you got that drunk last night... You know I would do whatever I could to help, right?"
