I'm choosing to ignore that. Hey, remember the time the Slepneir painting and hot pink seats came up?

NO. DON'T YOU DARE.

[And he's booking it out of the motel room with Sam giving him a weird look as he sprints to make sure that Baby hasn't been meddled with by an obnoxious archangel.]

Now I'm laughing. And crying from how hard I'm laughing.

The car is perfectly fine aside from said archangel being perched on the hood and giving Dean an unrepentant grin. "Aw, you came right to me instead of making me find you."

He sure knows how to traumatize Dean. :P

Dean glares at him, but he still gives the car a once over. Just to be sure.

"What the hell, man," he snaps, once he's certain the car is okay. "I didn't tell you where I was for a reason. What d'you want, Gabriel?"

Everybody that knows about Dean's thing for his car knows how to truamatize him.

Only thing wrong is the angel parked on the car. "You mean besides the chance to give you your panic attack for the day?"

He shrugs before tilting his head slightly. "Why didn't you want me knowing where you were?"

That's pretty wrong as it is. Dean's glare doesn't lessen at all.

"Thought you might try to pull some kind of crap on me, that's why. Can you really blame me, man? Get off Baby's hood, you'll dent her."

Dean may want to take a breath and use his new knowledge to remember that he's basically dealing with an over-sized teenager.

Gabriel gives Dean a thoughtful look, weighing how good an idea it is to invade his personal space. "Most I would have done is slap you upside the head before taking off before you really had time to finish processing who and what just happened."

And since when has Dean been any good at taking a breath to do anything resembling thinking?

He frowns, seeming to deflate a little.

"Guess that wasn't as horrible as I was thinking. Still not something I want to happen, anyway."

Hope springs eternal.

"I'm pretty sure it's infinitely preferable to whatever you were thinking I might do," Gabriel comments drily. Then he disappears from his spot on the car and reappears right in front of Dean, grinning up at him. "So, shorts unbunched?"

Normally he would have jumped at the sudden disappearing/reappearing trick. But he just seems to take in stride for once, meeting that grin with a sour look of his own. Probably because he's just happy the guy is off of his car.

"Weren't as bunched as yours were after that height crack before, shortstack," he says, arms still folded over his chest.

"You got that from a simple question?" he asks with a raised eyebrow. Granted, he was a bit cranky, but there's no reason to let Dean know for certain.

Dean snorts, and the signs of a smile play at his lips for the first time since seeing Gabriel in the parking lot.

"No witty reply or sarcastic comment to go along with it--yeah, it was pretty obvious," he points out. "I'm not as dense as you seem to think."

"Hmm, well you do have your smart moments," Gabriel teases. "I'm guessing you weren't in the middle of anything important, since you had time for a long texting session."

"We're stuck in the middle of nowhere just hanging out until the next case pops up on the radar," Dean says, gesturing back at the motel behind them, letting the jab at his intelligence slide for the moment.. "Already saw everything there's to see in Bumfuckville, so now it's either daytime TV, listening to Sam ramble about some nerd stuff, or texting with you. Shows just how low I've sunk in life."

"I am the awesome option of the three," Gabriel replies, turning around the insult to himself.

"Hey, it's only because it was too early for Judge Judy," Dean says, rolling his eyes. "She wins over you any time."

"What happened to Dr. Sexy? Not sexy enough for you anymore?" Don't tell him he managed to ruin it for you, Dean.

"You know, ever since our little 'guest appearance' on your TV special programming, what where I got shot in the back and Sam got the clap, the whole Dr. Sexy MD kinda lost its groove for me," Dean deadpans, and yes. Gabriel totally ruined Dr. Sexy for him. Forever.

Gabriel winces faintly. Alright, bad subject, message received. "I think this is where the awkward subject change comes in."

"Here's a subject change--what're you doin' in this part of town, anyway?" Dean asks, raising his eyebrows at him. At least he got some sign of remorse out of the angel for what happened. That was something.

Dean should treasure that sign because it may not happen again anytime soon.

"I'm here because this is where you and your car are. If you two were in a better part of town, I'd be there instead," Gabriel says promptly.

The eyebrows only raise higher at that.

"Wow, Gabriel, who knew you were so fond of me?" he says. "Better not let word of that get out. Your reputation might get ruined. Actually, no. My reputation would get trashed."

"Just tell people it's because an archangel wanted to hit you. I'm sure they'd find it easy to believe," he says with a smirk, pulling a previously not existing chocolate bar out of his jacket pocket to peel the wrapper partly off of to start eating.
